Otters after the rain

A few days rain can make all the difference, the stream is back to a descent flow and new fresh washed mud for animal tracks. Otter tracks to be precise, though my photograph dosn’t do justice, could actually see outline of webbing. Don’t often see the otters, occasionally a head above the stream bank. Our stream has only tiddlers in the way of fish, but bigger beasties provide rich pickings for otter & heron alike….the remains of a late night snack….thats one less signal crayfish.
